Beautiful Stump Studios Pottery and Artwork

First entry for Green Bay's Butterflys and Friends on Parade.  Lumpy the Raku Toad!

Almost complete,  Lumpy is coming alive with thousands of Raku circles.  Beautiful coppers and other radiant colored circles are abundant on this gorgous specimen.  It's no wonder that it made the largest sum in the events history, which procedes go to the Einstein Project.  From there they purchase science needs for local schools.  What a great event!

Lumpy started out as a fiberglass mold of the frog.  From there, Annie drew and labled circles from which she would shape clay, and let it dry right on the mold.  she then would fire all of the thousands of circles in a bisque firing.  She then glazed them with Raku glaze, and fired them once again.  Straight from the kiln they went into organic matter like leaves or  saw dust, anything that would catch fire fast.  The fire and smoke makes a reaction and out comes beautiful raku tiles of copper and irradescant colors.  They were all glued to the form, and grouted for strength and weatherability.  After it was all sealed Lumpy was ready for display for the Butterflies and Friends on Parade.  the final picture is of Annie and the wonderful people who bought her piece at the auction.
